He's not even all that interesting - unless you're expecting him to suddenly transform into a giant lizard and start thrashing people with his tail. Gwen Stacey was another red herring. In the comics she was murdered by the Green Goblin. In the movie she's just sort of a fake love interest, stealing time from more interesting plotlines. Sandman was OK. Better than expected. Venom was OK. Worse than expected. Green Goblin was fine, I suppose. Each could've been a great antagonist, but somehow three villains together turned out to be three times less exciting. Overall I enjoyed the movie, but the franchise seems to be heading in the direction of the Batman movies and that's not a plus.
