A couple weeks ago, my brotha-from-a-different-motha (Ben) hooked me up with Mindy’s website - you know, the girl from THE OFFICE. It’s packed with fun “favorite things” of hers and other people she knows. Pretty neat! Then I was also enjoying Ciara’s website, which has been including a “Great Idea of the Day” recurring post, which I love. So I thought – why not do something like this myself?

Well you’re all in luck because since this is the first trial balloon on this one, I’m throwing not one, not two, but THREE of my guilty pleasures your way. And if you call now, I’ll throw in this extra water-whipping attachment for free. So get ready, put down that Butterfingers, and get out a pencil and paper (no scraps because you don’t want to be losing it) to take notes.

In the category of best summer TV show series: So You Think You Can Dance? Wednesday nights on Fox. Plus, since it’s two hours right now, I can tape it and stretch it out for days while I eat between Bar Review class and essay writing. After my salsa lessons I have a special appreciation for these people. If I could choose a Super Power to have, it would be to dance like they do!

Favorite low-guilt dessert: Hershey’s Special Dark. You can go pick one up at your favorite Safeway location (or anywhere, but I just really like Safeway). Just 1/4 of the bar is satisfying, filling, tasty, and has only 55 calories!

Favorite DVD Series, soon to be back to Primetime: LOST. I take personal responsibility for getting four people hooked on this show, and we all couldn’t be happier. Now it’s going to be LOST parties all next season every Wednesday night, and I’m so excited! Totally check it out. You don’t even have to give me credit for how much you’ll like it. (Seasons 1 and 2 available on DVD, and Season 3 coming soon – then you’ll be up to date!) Season 4 begins in January 2008, so you have lots of time to catch up. Warning: Avoid spoilers at any cost!

This week we went to see the latest Marvel creation – the third (and final?) film in the Spiderman series. The film had gotten rave reviews, and we weren’t the only ones there. Evidently the film broke the all time record for sales in one day, reaching $59 million on Friday, its opening day. In addition to other movie-goers, the film was packed with villains, drama, good ol’ fashion beatings, and the guy from “That 70s Show” (Topher Grace) that I always get mixed up with Spiderman actor Tobey Maguire, which I therefore thought was an odd casting choice. There were some “darker” scenes in this movie (like the newest Batman movie, and X-Men, they all have to go dark at one point or another). I say that in quotes, though, because even the darkness didn’t seem that dark. The themes carried well from previous movies and it was easy to follow. My complaint was that it almost seemed too simple at some points, and bordered on cheesy at others (think Jim Carrey in THE MASK). Maybe I’m getting spoiled watching a lot of movies with twists and surprises…who knows.

Anyway, I would love to hear what y’all thought of it, best/worst, and how many stars you’d give, but NO SPOILERS PLEASE, so that those who haven’t seen it don’t get scared away!
